Dozens of Israeli mayors have written to the Finance Ministry to demand immediate funding for local community activities.
''We, the mayors, turn to you to demand that you immediately transfer to us, with no further delay, all funds that have been allocated for local community activities,'' the letter reads.
''In a time of serious national crisis such as this one, the teams carrying out these activities will be active daily, both during routine and even more so during an emergency, and provide a response to numerous local issues on the outskirts of our society.''
"Community activity teams are an important and vital force for us. Their actions are critical to help us cope with the changes the war brings upon us every day."
The letter is signed by mayors from every region of Israel.
