Israel’s Ambassador to the United States Michael Herzog spoke at the giant rally at National Mall, Washington DC, supporting Israel, calling for the unconditional release of the hostages from Hamas and condemning rising antisemitism.

The rally, which was organized by many of the most prominent Jewish organizations in the United States, brought American Jews, Israelis and their allies to downtown Washington, D.C., in a show of solidarity in the wake of the October 7 Hamas terror attack on Israel.

Thousands of people, including many who traveled across the country to attend, used their voices and marched against the growing tide of anti-Israel and antisemitic sentiment.

In his speech, Ambassador Herzog laid out the threat Israel faces from Hamas, which culminated in the October 7 attack, and denounced those who have expressed support for the atrocities. He also thanked the American public and members of both parties in the House of Representatives and U.S. Senate for their unwavering support for Israel at this difficult time.

Ambassador Herzog also reflected on the importance of Tuesday’s rally and the need to speak up, saying: “There are defining moments in history. This is one of them. At this moment, no one can remain silent. Through our shared voices, values and strength – together we will defeat evil and we will prevail.”
