A resident of Jerusalem and a history and citizenship teacher at a school in Petah Tikva, was arrested last night (Thursday) due to a complaint filed by the Ministry of Education against him.
The police say he was arrested for legitimizing and supporting the enemy during wartime, following various posts he published, in which he accused IDF soldiers of raping Palestinian women for 75 years, and even justified the actions of Hamas and the terrorists who raped Israeli women.
In the past, he called Air Force pilots child killers, and legitimized terrorism in a variety of posts. A few months ago, a terrorist justified and denied the terrorism he committed when he posted on the Internet: "He ran over six people, but he is not a terrorist."
Due to these comments, it was decided to suspend him from teaching immediately and stop his work at the educational institution. After that, as mentioned, criminal proceedings were opened against him, he was detained for questioning and his detention was extended today in court by four days. His police investigation continues.
The police said: "Recently, the police received a complaint from the Ministry of Education and the Municipality of Petah Tikva, according to which a civics and history teacher at a school in Petah Tikva expressed support and identification with the terrorist organization Hamas and its horrific acts that included the rape of innocent Jewish women and girls, thus giving them legitimacy and making serious and false accusations against the soldiers of the IDF. In light of these comments, they decided to suspend him from teaching immediately and stop his work at the educational institution."
The Petah Tikva municipality said, "The Petah Tikva municipality acted immediately and therefore the citizenship teacher was summoned to a hearing and it was decided to fire him. This is due to serious statements he posted on social media and statements in the class he taught. The statements include support for the 'right of the occupied to use terrorism', harsh statements against Air Force pilots, calls for refusal to serve and more. We of course reject the shocking statements, as they were allegedly found by the police, and we will continue to act hard against these phenomena. We support the security forces and the police and look forward to the exhaustion of the law against the teacher."
