Yossi Amano and Nerya Cohen are getting married tonight (Tuesday) in Otniel, a community in the Hevron hills region.
The residents of Otniel, a small community that lost four of its members in the war, came to celebrate with the couple. In addition to the local residents and relatives, reserve soldiers in the region joined the celebrations.
Amano, a medic in the reserve battalion that served in the area for the past month, and his bride Nerya Cohen decided to get married at Mitzpe Dafna, built by the youth in Otniel, in memory of Dafna Meir, a local resident who was murdered in 2016.
Rabbi Benny Kalmanzon, father of Elchanan who fell in battle in kibbutz Be’eri, and uncle of Pdaya Mark, who fell in battle in Gaza, thanked the couple who came to show their support for the residents of Otniel and said that "although we are broken, there is nothing happier than this wedding."
The bride's father blessed his daughter and son-in-law and the entire audience "with a true connection that comes from the depths of listening to each other."
