MK Danny Danon hosted former British PM Boris Johnson and former Australian PM Scott Morrison in Israel today.

A soldier from England asked Johnson about the support for Hamas in England: "While we are here, we worry for the families we've left behind. Tens of thousands of people chanted 'Free Palestine, kill the Jews' in front of Big Ben. Who is ensuring our families are safe? We expected our governments to have more of a hold on the public than that."

Johnson replied: "I absolutely condemn the genocidal slogans being used in the streets of the West, and I think the London police have a job to do making sure that incitement is punished to the full extent of the law. I also think that the community security services are doing excellent work and they're in a lot going on to ensure that everyone remains safe."

"As a former mayor, what worries me is the massive incomprehension that seems to have taken hold at the root causes of the issue. We are doing everything we can to make sure that everyone in the capital can feel as safe as possible - no exceptions."

Morrison added: "It's the same in Australia. They get great support in Australia, and that's one of the reasons I decided to come here - I did not want the Jewish community in Australia to feel isolated."

"One of the most upsetting things that I'm hearing in our country is that schoolgirls don't want to put on their uniforms because it identifies them as Jewish. I cannot conceive that that would happen in a successful multi-cultural society like Australia, but it is happening. That's how I explain to my own daughter why I've chosen to come here - so that people her own age don't have to feel like that."

Johnson concluded: "Underneath the floorboards of European civilization, and indeed across the world, there is a spore of antisemitism. Sometimes it comes out, and it needs to be eradicated. That's why we're here, to restore some of the clarity to this situation. The world seems to be forgetting that Israel suffered a barbaric terrorist attack and is trying its best as a civilized democracy to deal with it."
