The commander of the Hermon Brigade, Col. Avinoam Emunah, decided to dismiss a reservist seven months after he criticized him for his decision to meet the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir, according to Channel 12 News.
The reservist criticized the brigadier general through social media seven months ago. With the start of the Hamas invasion, Col. Emunah decided to remove the reservist from the unit.
Emunah is considered a leading and outstanding officer in the IDF. In April 2023 it was announced that he met with the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir without the knowledge of his commanders and his opponents from within the army sought to depose him.
The meeting dealt with the possible appointment of Emunah to the position of commander of the National Guard. Following this, Emunah was reprimanded by the commander of the military colleges.
