In a video conference with members of the US Congress, Binyamin Regional Council Governor Israel Ganz stressed the partnership between the US and Israel and the continuation of the fighting against Israel’s enemies.
The joint conversation was held with Congressman Doug Lamborn (R-CO) and former Congressman Dennis Ross. The conversation began with Binyamin Regional Council Governor Israel Ganz presenting the current situation in the Binyamin region, the high level of preparedness in the communities throughout the region, and the dedicated support of many donors from Jewish communities in the US for the emergency needs of Binyamin residents. Ganz told the Congressmen about the many attempts by unruly Palestinians to escalate disturbances in Judea and Samaria, including calls by the muezzins in the mosques to kill Jews, including children, but such attempts are being thwarted by the firm and decisive actions of the IDF to root out terror.
Congressman Lamborn thanked Ganz for the details on the situation in the Jewish communities, which is mostly not covered in social media due to the events in Israel’s northern and southern regions. Lamborn stressed that the Americans have a firm stance concerning Israel and support Israel’s decisions. “Israel has the right to defend itself and do whatever is necessary for the country’s security. Hamas is just an arm of Iran, and we need to take a stand.”
Later in the conversation, Lamborn presented the particulars of the bill for $14 billion in economic aid for Israel that is expected to be approved by the US government in the coming days. “This is aid for Israel’s economic stability during this war and will provide a tailwind from us for the continued eradication of terror and the collapse of the Hamas regime.”
Former Congressman Ross stressed the importance of American military aid to Israel and the protection of the country’s citizens. “The alliance between the US and Israel is strong and important to the development of the Middle East. It is in our best interest to protect our ally and be full partners in the war against despicable enemies that target infants, children, women, and the elderly.”
Ganz reiterated to Lamborn and Ross that this war is not only Israel’s but also affects all Western countries. “If we don’t kill every last Hamas operative, they will go everywhere in the world. The radical Arabs surrounding Israel think about how to kill the Jewish People, and this harms the development of the Middle East.” Ganz noted that President Biden’s remark about “settler terrorism” at this time is “a big lie that does an injustice to the law-abiding citizens of Israel. Most of the men in the Judea and Samaria communities are with the forces fighting our enemies, leaving behind their wives, children, and families.”
In addition to the Congressmen and the governor of the Binyamin region, the video-conference call included representatives of the US administration, Binyamin Region International Desk Director Eliana Passentin, Binyamin Region Advisor on US Affairs Ruthie Lieberman, and Sarah Paley, one of the founders of Yes Israel Project.
