Channel 13 News anchor Almog Boker posted a photo of a closet in which the children Michael and Amelia, the children of the late photographer Roi Idan, hid for 14 hours during the Hamas attack until the IDF arrived.
"Let the whole world see," Boker began. "This is the closet where Michael and Amelia hid for 14 hours, two small children aged 6 and 8, after their parents Roi and Smadar were murdered. Abigail, their 3-year-old little sister, is being held captive by Hamas."
He pointed out that "The bloodstains near the closet belong to their mother, who was murdered before their eyes. The family of the late Roi asked that the photo be published so that the whole world will see the holocaust we went through.'"
The children were rescued by soldiers from the Yahalom unit, the IDF's special operations combat engineering unit. In the recording of the rescue, it is possible to hear the moment when the children opened the door for the soldiers, and their uncle Amit, who made contact with the rescue force.
