As part of the war effort, the IDF has published a series of public calls for civilians who own or operate quadcopters - also known as UAVs or drones to join the war effort.

Civilians operating drones over 200 grams have been asked to register details about their flights with security services to help better track hostile drones moving through Israeli airspace.

A proposed bill in the government would allow the IDF, via local emergency squads, to seize a drone and conscript it's operator for the war effort.

Drone retailers in Israel report massive shortages since the war began, claiming that security services or civilian volunteers have bought every unit available. Some reported that they were heavily backordered as well.

Drone retailers in the United States of America have reported a significant increase in individuals or organizations attempting to order drones to be shipped to Israel, or to cities from which there are still flights to Israel.

The use of drones in three war against Hamas gained significant attention at the very beginning of the war, when Hamas published footage claiming to have disabled IDF machine gun turrets on the Gaza Strip border by dropping explosives from drones.

Israel's Ministries of Finance and Economy have attempted to ease the process of importing drones for the war effort with a series of special leniencies in import regulations intended to allow donations to pass quickly to where they are needed.

Drones are not the only things set to be requisitioned by the IDF - the proposed bill also calls for the seizure of automobiles and boats.
