In contrast to earlier forecasts, rains are now foreseen for tomorrow, Election Day. Very heavy rain and even hail is falling in the north today, while central Israel is basically dry. The situation is expected to repeat itself tomorrow, though central Israel will also receive some precipitation. Snow began to fall on Mt. Hermon, and is expected to continue through Wednesday.



Inclement weather could work to the detriment of the Shinui party. This is because one recent poll showed that the highest number of voters who were uncertain of their choice or whether they would vote at all came from amongst those who chose Shinui as their first choice. Cold rainy weather might be the deciding factor in these voters' decision as to whether to venture outside or not.



The level of the Kinneret Sea stands today at 213.85 centimeters below sea level. The Kinneret is filling up this year at a faster pace than last year, when the above level was reached only on March 20.
