Iddo Netanyahu, brother of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on Sunday rejected the claims by some that his brother is failing to take responsibility for the failures that led to the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel.

In an interview with Kan 11 News, the Prime Minister’s brother wondered why there are not calls for other public leaders to take responsibility and to step down.

“He said he has responsibility and later added that he stands by what he said. Does his wording not exactly fit what you would like him to say?” Netanyahu asked the interviewer, Omri Assenheim, who said, “I just want him to take responsibility.”

“Look, the issue of responsibility…they keep repeating the word ‘responsibility’…everything is directed towards one thing and I saw this on your show last week. It’s all directed towards one thing: To force him to resign. That’s what they keep talking about in the studios,” said the Prime Minister’s brother.

“What exactly does he need to resign for? For not dealing with Hamas in the best possible way? It’s true. But why should only he resign? Why shouldn’t Benny Gantz resign? He was Defense Minister for a time, right? He was IDF Chief of Staff for many years. Why aren’t they calling on him to resign? Why aren’t they calling on Gallant to resign? He’s been Defense Minister,” he added.

“For years there has been a campaign which is trying to cause [Prime Minister Netanyahu] to resign, to step down, to throw him aside,” charged Iddo Netanyahu.
