Magen David Adom bows its head and mourns the passing of Major Oriel Bibi, a resident of Shlomit, who was a combat officer in the paratroopers and fell in the "Iron Swords" war, at 30 years old.
Oriel started his career at MDA as a youth volunteer, went through many different qualifications, and was an active volunteer in the Yarkon and Negev regions of Magen David Adom. He recently began his studies in emergency medicine at Ben Gurion University in the Negev in order to become a paramedic.
MDA paramedic Gal Grander, who mentored Oriel in the MDA instructor course, says: "I met Oriel about 13 years ago when he was my trainee in the instructor course. He was one of the outstanding trainees, characterized by humanity and his human relations were very high, a man of values. I loved him so much, everyone loved him so much. Although his military service was very intense, he never neglected MDA and helping others, he always tried to find time to join the ambulance shifts in order to save lives."
MDA Director General Eli Bin paid tribute to Major Oriel Bibi: "Oriel was a very active volunteer who contributed a lot over the years to saving lives in Israel. The staff and volunteers of Magen David Adom bow their heads and mourn the passing of Oriel, may his memory be blessed."
