Your heart shall not quake or break in sight of them…Your resolve shall not falter...Your eye shall not pity them.
From the Book of Devarim…Deuteronomy…that is Moses addressing the Jewish People then and now…as they gird up and go forth to battle.
Yes, now.
From one page to the next, in the greatest Book ever written, Moses, through the Almighty, speaks directly to Israelis today, and to the troops in particular.
This day, Moses then and now, “I shall place dread and fear of you…when they hear of your reputation…and they will tremble.”
“You will confound them with great confusion, until their destruction.”
“Be strong and of good courage,” he advises Joshua some 3,500 years ago.
Yes, that long ago.
In case there is any doubt about who owns this Land…this Good Earth promised to the Jewish People.
In perfect and sublime language, prose unmatched, this is Moses telling the People what to expect when they finally enter that Good Earth, in love and gratitude…
“Great and good cities that you did not build, houses filled with every good thing that you did not fill, hewn-out cisterns that you did not hew, orchards and olive trees that you did not plant – and you shall eat and be satisfied.”
All that was forthcoming, but as it turned out, not so fast.
None of it would come easy. The Promise, then and up to this hour, comes with a caveat. The People will have to fight for every inch…and keep on fighting.
There will be wars.
The enemy never sleeps. Challenges await Israel generation to generation.
There has never been any other prophecy so on the mark and so true.
We hear that “Palestinians are victims, too,” and that the good folks of Gaza and elsewhere want no part of Hamas.
But they voted for Hamas, these good folks did, and where are their voices to declare, not in my name? Instead, silence.
Likewise, the sound of silence from Muslim leaders around the world. Can Hamas cannibalism be something they approve?
Good Muslims, and I know some, even as neighbors, what of your own legacy and reputation? The slaughter of innocents… would Mohammad approve?
Hamas exposed the hidden veil. In broad strokes, Hamas painted the portrait for this time and for all time.
Unfortunately, the Israeli (leftist) Establishment, too busy going after Bibi, were too distracted to get the picture.
Plus, as leftists will do, they gave Hamas the benefit of the doubt, dreaming, as they did, that with love and concessions, these violent Arabs could be tamed.
After all, aren’t people generally good? The answer is painfully No. Goodness is a theory. Wickedness is a fact.
But as the Hittite and the Jebusite and the Amorite were dumped into the dustbins of history, the same fate awaits Hamas.
More than Hamas, the same inglorious end awaits its followers, including those depraved professors and their radicalized students…Yale…Harvard…onward down the Ivy League rat hole.
Behold, a generation of Little Hitlers is on the loose.
True to type, Bernie Sanders joins BLM and the mobs and members of the Squad condemning Israel.
Vengeance is coming, and the “collateral damage” is on them.
Your eye shall not pity them.
