Two civilians were wounded in a shooting in the Arab village in Huwara this evening (Tuesday).

Magen David Adom (MDA) EMTs and Paramedics along with an IDF medical unit area treated the two men in their 30s, who were fully conscious with mild head wounds caused by glass shrapnel, and evacuated them to Beilinson Hospital.

An MDA medic said it was a "miracle" the victims were not directly struck by the gunfire.

Security forces are hunting for the shooter, who fled the scene.

The IDF stated: "Following the initial report, a short while ago a shooting attack was carried out toward civilians driving in their vehicle at the Bitot Junction. Two civilians were injured from glass shards.
IDF soldiers and Magen David Adom paramedics provided initial medical treatment at the scene. The civilians were evacuated while lightly injured and fully conscious to receive further medical treatment in a hospital. IDF soldiers are pursuing the terrorists and have set up blockages in the area."

Samaria Regional Council chairman Yossi Dagan arrived at the scene and helped to treat the victims.

Dagan pointed an accusing finger at the government over the latest shooting in Huwara. "A serious shooting attack was committed in Huwara, I arrived here the very moment the attack occurred, and the two wounded men were conscious. There was a great miracle here, both of them are wounded, but both are conscious and are currently on their way to the hospital. From here and I say to the Prime Minister, I say to the Minister of Defense and I say to all the ministers, this is your responsibility, it is in your hands, you are responsible for the fact that Jews are shot here again and again in the center of the State of Israel," he said.

"We came here to live and we will not give up on you. We demand security, we demand that you restore deterrence. The house from which the shots were fired should also be demolished. The checkpoints should be restored already, stop neglecting our security," Dagan said.
