El-Roi Kapach, who was wounded last week in a shooting attack at the Tekoa Junction in Gush Etzion, was released on Sunday from Shaare Zedek Medical Center in good condition and will continue recovering at home.
El-Roi was brought to the hospital in severe condition with gunshot wounds on his upper body. His two daughters were lightly wounded.
The surgery department team came to part from El-Roi and his family upon his release and to wish him a quick and easy recovery.
Dr. Alon Shwartz, the director of the Shaare Zedek Medical Center trauma ward, stated: "El-Roi came to us with gunshot wounds on his upper body, he underwent emergency surgery and continued to recover in the ward.
I thank the medical team that took part in treating El-Roi, Dr. Shira Dorot, the dedicated nursing team, and everyone who took part with dedication and investment. I wish El-Roi a continued easy and complete recovery, an easy return to routine and health, to him and his family."
El-Roi's wife, Tamar Kapach, stated: "We wish to thank the people of Shaare Zedek Hospital. From the moment El-Roi came through the hospital gates, accompanied by the dear MDA staff, we received care that was second to none in medical professionalism and incomparable in human dedication. From the orderlies who always assured a clean, orderly, and pleasant area. Through the nurses and the surgeons who saved his life and gave us back a healthy El-Roi who's ready and determined ahead of his recovery and return to life.
Residents of Nokdim, in Gush Etzion, lined the streets to welcome El-Roi to his home.
Gush Etzion Regional Council Governer, and Yesha Council Chairman, Shlomo Ne’eman, said: "We started the week with some good news. El-Roi Kapach, who was seriously wounded by evil terrorists last Sunday, was released from the hospital and went home in good condition."
Turning to Kapach directly, Ne’eman added: "El-Roi, you are a true hero. We want to thank you for your perseverance, resourcefulness, and faith. On behalf of all of Gush Etzion’s residents, I wish you a speedy recovery."
