The protests against the government’s judicial reform continued on Saturday night with demonstrations in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
In Jerusalem, two protesters were arrested as confrontations broke out with police officers. Dozens of protesters tried to block a road near the Chords Bridge at the entrance to the city.
The police said that "some protesters began to riot and confront police officers at the roadblocks in the Cinema City area, who pushed them back."
In Tel Aviv there were clashes between protesters and police when some of the protesters, according to the police, threw rocks and objects towards the Ayalon Highway.
Dozens of protesters blocked the highway and mounted officers were summoned to evacuate them. Elsewhere along the highway, protesters deliberately sat down on the road in front of the police.
Six protesters were arrested on suspicion of disturbances and clashes with police officers.
During a demonstration of the opponents of the reform at Karkur Junction, one of the demonstrators attacked a scooter rider who was passing by, using the stick of the flag he was holding.
The rider suffered light injuries and sought medical treatment. Police officers arrested the suspect in the attack, a 50-year-old resident of Karkur.
