Attorney Haim Bleicher of the Honenu Jewish rights organization sent a letter to the Head of the IDF's Central Command Yehuda Fuchs, requesting that he order the arrest of the leaders of a terrorist squad who carried out a rock throwing attack against a vehicle carrying three Jewish passengers near the community of Ma'ale Levona, injuring them in the process about six months ago.

In his letter, Bleicher describes how the terrorists threw a rock from at the vehicle carrying the Jewish girls. "On February 26, 2023, on Route 60 near the turnoff to Ma'ale Levona, a stone attack was carried out. My client drove the car with her two friends inside the car with her."

Bleicher continued: "Near the turn up to Ma'ale Levona, a vehicle with headlights turned on passed my client. As it was passing, the occupants of the vehicle threw a rock in the direction of my client's face. The rock penetrated the windshield of the vehicle, passed within inches of my client's face, and fell between the seats. My client was injured by shards of glass, some of which even penetrated her eyes. The incident miraculously ended with a minor injury, but it could easily have ended in disaster for the three young women."

In his letter, he points out that the terrorists were detained but released due to legal difficulties: "I contacted the police and the military prosecutor's office, where I was told that several terrorists were arrested for the incident but were released by the court due to difficulties in presenting the evidence. In the meantime, it became clear that the army has intelligence information regarding the terrorists' complicity in the attack, but for security reasons, the existing information cannot be used to incriminate them in a court of law."

At the end of his letter, Bleicher asks General Fuchs to arrest of the terrorists to prevent them from harming more Jews.

"Throwing stones from a passing vehicle contains all the elements of a serious terrorist attack such as: planning, preparation, use of a squad and quick escape routes, and carrying out an act that could easily lead to a fatal outcome for the passengers of the affected vehicle. It is not just an attempt to damage property. It is therefore puzzling how those dangerous terrorists are out free due to difficulties in presenting evidence in court. The army has the tool of administrative arrest in order to eradicate terrorist groups and prevent acts of murder that may materialize with near certainty. I beseech you to immediately arrest the perpetrators of the attack before they have a chance to carry out further acts of terror," he concluded.
