MK Hili Tropper (National Unity Party) revealed that coalition MKs are exploring the possibility of forming a government alongside his party.
Tropper told the Knesset Channel that senior government ministers and close associates of the prime minister are telling members of Benny Gantz's National Unity Party to: "Get in instead of the extremists" apparently referencing the religious Zionist parties headed by Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich.
Tropper further stated that: "It won't happen. We won't be in the coalition but if they do good things, we will support them."
The MK also said that if there are talks about peace with Saudi Arabia, "we will support it because it is good for the State of Israel."
About two weeks ago, the National Unity's MK Matan Kahana said that contrary to policy established by chairman Benny Gantz, it is necessary to strive for the establishment of a unity government alongside the Likud.
According to him, such a move should be made only after the next elections, when the National Unity Party is expected to grow significantly.
In an interview with Ynet, Kahana said that: "our veto on Netanyahu was not personal - it stemmed from the fact that Gantz was the only one who gave him a chance to form a unity government and got burned in the process." "As far as I can tell, we understood the message. From now on, all legal means are legitimate," he added.
