Health and Interior Minister Moshe Arbel (Shas) said in closed conversations that he plans to retire from political life at the end of his current term in office.
This is a surprising statement in light of the fact that Arbel is considered one of the most promising politicians in the political system.
The Kikar HaShabbat website reported that, during a closed conversation with close associates, the minister said, "I intend to retire from politics at the end of the current term, as I am not interested in being entrenched in one position."
Arbel explained, according to the report, that he wanted to finish a positive term and then move on and close the political chapter in his life.
The minister's office has not commented on the report.
