In a special discussion held this morning in the Prime Minister's Office, with the Prime Minister, Police Commissioner, and other senior officials present, Ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Yariv Levin criticized the Attorney General and accused her of discrimination in calls for the arrests of protesters.
During the special hearing, the issue of arrests came up, where Ministers Ben-Gvir and Levin asked the AG, "How many indictments have been filed against protesters in the last six months?".
"We think there were a few, we don't remember exactly." After this question, the AG tried to shift the responsibility for this to the police, "The police are responsible for enforcement." Here, Ministers Levin and Ben-Gvir voiced their criticism for shifting the responsibility to the police, "Stop shifting responsibility to the police. You decide. It was your policy and your guidance," the two told her.
Minister Ben-Gvir added: "Counselor, you know perfectly well that this is about illegal activity, attacking MKs and ministers, blocking roads with burning tires. How can it be that when the suspects for this were to be arrested until the end of proceedings against them, they have all already been released? This is scandalous.”
Minister Levin said "There is no law and no justice. Everyone does as they please.”
