The IDF arrested three Arab suicide bombers last night, successfully preventing PLO backed bombers from wreaking vast devastation in Israel. One of the bombers was arrested in Kalkilya, and the other two in Tulkarem, PLO-dominated cities located adjacent to Israel's densely populated coastal plain. (Both cities were ceded to the Palestinian Authority by the Rabin government under the Oslo accords).

Early this morning, an IDF force succeeded in capturing a PLO terrorist as he was about to enter the town of Slav, located in Gaza, on Israel's southern coast near the Egyptian border.

As he approached Slav, the terrorist, who used a ladder to climb over the security fence surrounding the communities in Gush Katif, opened fire on IDF troops guarding the town. The IDF returned fire, wounding the Arab and exploding a grenade he was carrying.

The wounded terrorist, who is now in interrogation, was found to be carrying a Kalashnikov rifle, four grenades, and a number of magazine cartridges. IDF sources say that a potentially severe terrorist attack was successfully prevented at Slav. No Israeli casualties were reported in the incident.

Elsewhere in Gaza, a bomb exploded last night on the road running parallel to the security fence surrounding the Gaza district. No damage was reported..

Also last night, IDF forces arrested 22 Arab terrorist suspects in various locations in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza.

The home of a terrorist responsible for an attack on an IDF base in the Jordan valley was demolished by the IDF. The terrorist lived in Kabatyia, a town near Jenin that was ceded to the PLO under the Oslo accords.
