A Palestinian attempted to run down a woman soldier this morning between Adam and Hizme, northeast of Jerusalem. The incident began when she noticed the speeding car and signaled him to stop. He then tried to run her down; she was unhurt, and he sped off. Policemen gave chase, caught him, and found that he had no driver\'s license and that he was driving a stolen car.



An Arab from the Jerusalem-area village of Azariyah was arrested for throwing Molotov cocktails and rocks at Israeli cars. He confessed to the crimes. Azariyah was one of the villages that Ehud Barak promised to give over to the Palestinian Authority; a public outcry arose, and the transfer was never carried out.
