Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu passed down an order to thoroughly investigate residents' claims of severe violence by security forces during several incidents in Judea and Samaria.
"In light of a rise in complaints in recent days, Prime Minister Netanyahu ordered an investigation into claims regarding the use of excessive force by security forces against civilians in Judea and Samaria," the Prime Minister's office stated.
Earlier Monday, Minister Orit Strock spoke with Radio Kol Berama and discussed the letter by the heads of the defense establishment condemning the far-right riots in PA-controlled villages on Saturday.
"The Chief of Staff, the Police Commissioner, and the Shin Bet Chief released a joint statement about Jewish nationalistic terrorism. Who are they, the Wagner group? Who do you think you are that you release a statement like this under the government's nose? They'll tell me off? I oppose these incidents, but it's an embarrassment to call it nationalist terror."
Later she published a clarification on Twitter, stating: "I say here and now: the words 'Wagner group' were wrong, and I apologize. I said it because of what's happening in the news, but it is completely inappropriate. I'm sorry! I don't regret my objective criticism of the fact that the heads of our defense establishment, as dedicated and praiseworthy as they are, are not supposed to be preachers but rather creators of security."
Prime Minister Netanyahu criticized Minister Strock's remarks against the heads of the defense establishment. "The heads and the members of our defense establishment work day and night to protect the state of Israel and its citizens. There is a place in a democracy to criticize everyone, but there is no place to assault those who lead our fight against terror and for Israel's security."
