As part of the ongoing war against terrorism and its infrastructures, IDF forces last night closed three college campuses in Hevron, belonging to the Politechnicum and the Islamic College. The IDF announced that certain PA academic institutions have become focal points and havens for radical religious and nationalist activity for all the terrorist organizations, which have based most of their operational infrastructure on the students.
The terrorists who infiltrated the Otniel yeshiva last month, for instance, and murdered four Israelis were students of the Politechnicum, which also produced the Jerusalem bombers of 1996 (45 dead), three terrorists involved in the ambush between Kiryat Arba and Hevron two months ago (12 killed, 16 wounded), and the murderers of four Jews, including a 5-year-old girl, in Adura last year. The Islamic College also produced many terrorists, leading to at least five deaths, and the College's Department of Chemistry lab was used by the Hamas leadership to teach its operatives how to make explosives for use in terror attacks.
