Columbia University in New York has decided not to re-hire an Irish poet who called for the murder of Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria. The poet, Tom Paulin, told the Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram Online that American Jews who reside in Judea-Samaria "should be shot dead. I think they are Nazis, racists, I feel nothing but hatred for them." Paulin also said he "never believed that Israel had the right to exist at all," and "I can understand how suicide bombers feel." Paulin also penned a poem in which he suggests that the "Zionist SS" deliberately gunned down "little Palestinian boys." Following a protest by the Zionist Organization of America and other organizations, Harvard University canceled a scheduled lecture he was to give there, and Columbia decided not to rehire him.
