A particularly stormy cabinet meeting this morning (Sunday) exploded after Minister Avi Dichter (Likud) brought up an issue regarding coalition agreements with the Otzma Yehudit party which holds the Negev and Galilee development portfolio. He claimed the agreements are impairing his work in the Ministry of Agriculture.
According to Channel 12 News' Yaron Avraham, Minister of Intelligence Gila Gamliel (Likud) told Minister of Internal Security Itamar Ben-Gvir (Otzma Yehudit). "Let Dichter do his job. The coalition agreements have stripped the Likud of its powers."
Minister of Public Diplomacy Galit Distel-Atbaryan (Likud) then interrupted her. "Why are you interfering? Be quiet," to which Gamliel replied: "Excuse me, butt out of this."
Distel further interjected: Go jump in the lake, you retard. No one in the Likud likes you. They hate you," to which Gamliel snapped, "Where's your printer? Hand me [what you just said] in writing."
Galit Distel-Atbaryan, who later denied using the term "retard", followed this up and replied, "You are a stone in the coalition's shoe!"
Likud sources reported that PM Netanyahu made it clear to the two sparring MKs that this behavior is totally unacceptable at cabinet meetings.
