According to a new NPR/Marist University national poll reported by Newsmax, most Republicans want former President Donald Trump stay in the 2024 presidential race despite the latest federal charges.

83% of Republicans who participated in the poll said that Trump should continue running.

In terms of all the voters in the poll, 43% of all voters say he should run and 56% say he shouldn't.

87% Democrat voters say Trump leave the race and 58% independents voters support that move as well.

Marist Institute for Public Opinion Director Lee M. Miringoff said to Newsmax: "For now, Republicans are grounded on where they stand on Trump, regardless of these unfolding events."
