The 5th Convention of Sovereignty Youth will be taking place today, Thursday, in Jerusalem, demanding that Israeli sovereignty be applied over the Jordan Valley first and then throughout Judea and Samaria.
Rabbis, ministers, members of the Knesset, and public figures, as well as the leaders of the Sovereignty Movement, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, will speak at the conference: “This is the time to apply sovereignty over the Jordan Valley.”

The annual convention of the Sovereignty Youth, established by the Sovereignty Movement, will be held for the fifth year today, Thursday, in Jerusalem. This year the convention will focus on the demand to apply Israeli sovereignty in the Jordan Valley while detailing and explaining the importance of this region and applying sovereignty immediately as a first step towards sovereignty throughout Judea and Samaria.

At the convention, which will be held at the Ramada Hotel, the following topics, among others, will be discussed: What is Sovereignty? Sovereignty – vision and action; the power of youth; sovereignty in the press and media; and more.

Among the speakers at the conference will be Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, Rabbi of Tzfat, Minister Orit Struck, Members of Knesset Dan Iluz, Yosef Taieb, Avihai Boaron, Head of the Jordan Valley Council, David Elhiani, Head of Ma’ale Ephraim, Shlomo Lalloouche, former members of Knesset, rabbis, journalists, among them, Yotam Zimri and Noam Fathi, and others.

We will mention that the heads of the Sovereignty Movement, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, sent a letter to the heads of the coalition factions in which they requested that after the legalization of Homesh, the next necessary step is the application of sovereignty over the Jordan Valley. The two explain that this is a unique window of opportunity, with sovereignty supporters in both the coalition and the opposition.

In addition, the two emphasized that the Jordan Valley is the preferred objective since it is a topic of a broad national consensus from the Right and the Left. The application of sovereignty there will establish the eastern border of the State of Israel and constitute a solid basis for bolstering its security and economy.

They are joined in their statement by Avraham Katz-Oz, former Minister of Agriculture and MK, a member of the Labor Party. Katz-Oz explained that even in his party they understood the strategic importance of Jewish settlement in the Jordan Valley and pressed for the establishment of kibbutzim there. According to him, the issue of applying sovereignty in the Jordan Valley has been discussed for over 25 years, and it is an unparalleled strategic area.

“No one knows whether tomorrow the Jordanian king, whose monarchy is always unstable, will be overthrown and 6-7 million Palestinians will unite with the West Bank into a single state from Jordan to Kalkilya. We must create an Israeli national security buffer zone along the Jordan River,” said Katz-Oz. “Not only do I join the call for the application of sovereignty, but I call for it to be carried out in practice: To build more communities in the Jordan Valley and bring more residents to settle the area,” he added.

The Fifth Sovereignty Convention will take place today, Thursday, June 8 (19 Sivan), beginning at 4:00 PM at the Ramada Hotel in Jerusalem.
