The Israeli woman killed in a bus accident in South Korea Thursday has been identified as 60-year-old Hadera resident Margarita Schwartzberg.

Schwartzberg was killed Thursday when a bus carrying Israeli tourists in the northern Chungcheong District in South Korea flipped over and crashed into a tree after taking a sharp turn.

According to initial reports, the accident occurred while the bus was driving uphill on a winding road.

The 68-year-old driver claimed that due to a mechanical failure, he was unable to shift gears, causing the accident.

Thirty-three Israeli tourists were injured in the accident, including four who suffered serious injuries, nine who were listed in moderate condition, and 20 who were lightly injured.

Four of the 33 Israeli tourists are still hospitalized in South Korea.

The PassportCard insurance company organized a rescue mission to South Korea which is expected to reach the hospitalized Israelis later on Friday.
