
Herut Leibowitz, the six-month-old baby girl who was struck by a bus in the heart of Jerusalem Monday afternoon, has died of her injuries, Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center announced this evening.
The infant was in her stroller when she was struck and seriously injured by the bus.
Magen David Adom (MDA) medics and paramedics provided the child with medical care at the scene and quickly evacuated her to the hospital while placing her under sedation and on assisted breathing. She was pronounced dead several hours later.
Herut's father works as a nurse at Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center.
Her funeral will be held at the Har Hamenuhot cemetery in Jerusalem at 11 pm tonight.
