Tehilla, an aliyah-promoting organization active mainly in the U.S., reports that despite popular misconception, interest in aliyah - and aliyah itself - is on the increase. Recent informational gatherings in the greater Boston area, for instance, attracted over 50 people interested in hearing information about moving to Israel. Similar events were held recently in Toronto, Los Angeles, and elsewhere, and another will be held tonight in New York (for information, send email to "ny@tehilla.com"). Tehilla's National Director, Chavi Eisenberg, reported that the year 2002 "saw a 100% in aliyah from New England, and Tehilla is eager to see that number increase in 2003."

Tehilla helps arrange heavily-subsidized pilot trips to Israel for potential aliyah candidates, involving trips to different communities, employment meetings, and many seminars related to aliyah and life in Israel. The trip costs only $450 per person.
