Yair Netanyahu, the son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has taken to Twitter to express his disgust with the behavior of protesters in Tel Aviv on Wednesday night, after his mother, Sara, was trapped inside a hair salon for over three hours due to a mob of over a thousand left-wingers who had gathered outside after learning of her presence.

Police were summoned to extricate the Prime Minister's wife; ultimately, hundreds of officers, many of them mounted, were needed to ensure her safe passage.

"If it had been right-wing protesters doing something like that to the wife of [Opposition leader Yair] Lapid, or [former Prime Minister] Ehud Barak, or [former Prime Minister Naftali] Bennett while they were serving as prime minister, the police would have dragged them bleeding from the sidewalk straight into the police or Shin Bet's interrogation rooms," the younger Netanyahu wrote, adding, "and the judge and prosecution service would have extended their detention until 2040."

"These were not protesters," he wrote in a later tweet. "They're not even anarchists. They are terrorists! A violent underground movement has arisen here, financed by evil and criminal billionaires. This is Domestic Terrorism. Even if it takes a while, in the end, they will be brought to account for all their crimes committed between 2016 and 2023."

In another tweet, Yair Netanyahu wrote that, "These enlightened European left-wingers have become the [ideological] twins of their barbaric brothers, the Palestinians. Today, a right-winger entering Tel Aviv is like a Jew wearing a yarmulka entering Ramallah. It's fortunate that this time things didn't end up with a lynch. Ultimately, those who organized and financed all this will be brought to account and will end up behind bars."

The Prime Minister's son continued to post tweets throughout the night, to which many responded with messages of support for his family.
