Fifteen new-immigrant families from Argentina are on their way to the Katzir-Harish Local Council just north of the Shomron. Council head Duby Sandrov told Arutz-7 that his town "took the initiative" and sent some emissaries to Argentina to interest prospective immigrants in their area, "and it worked." He said that the 15th family is set to arrive this week, and "it looks good... Another 20 families or more are also set to arrive soon... We are forming an ulpan [Hebrew learning program], each family will be paired up with a veteran family to help them along, and in general we will give them a 'warm' aliyah experience."

Sandrov said that from the beginning, the new arrivals were made clearly aware of the demographics around their area; Katzir-Harish is located in the midst of a somewhat Arab-populated part of Israel, south of the Nachal I'ron highway between Hadera and Afula.
