Preliminary reports are that at least 17 people have been killed in a double terror attack in southern Tel Aviv this evening. Two Palestinian suicide terrorists blew themselves up, one after the other and in close proximity to each other, around 6:30 PM. The police report 46 people wounded, including seven in critical condition. Many of the victims are foreign workers from China, Ghana, and other countries. At today's Cabinet meeting this morning, Defense Minister Sha'ul Mofaz emphasized that there was no sign of a let-up in the terror organizations' attempts to perpetrate attacks. He noted a large success rate in the IDF's thwarting of attacks, and said that Israel is constantly improving its readiness for the upcoming American war with Iraq.



An IDF soldier was wounded this afternoon by a Palestinian sniper. The victim was in an Israeli army base near N'vei Dekalim when he was shot, and was taken in light-to-moderate condition to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva… Palestinian terrorists also attempted to murder Israelis on the Tunnels Road late today when they fired at a bus near Jerusalem. The protective windshield was smashed, but no one was hurt…



IDF troops captured three armed Palestinian terrorists last night as they were attempting to smuggle weapons across the Egyptian border into Gaza. The three were armed with Kalachnikov rifles and carried a sack containing additional rifles, magazines, and thousands of bullets.



The Supreme Court rejected an appeal today by the members of the Silwan terrorist gang, paving the way for their homes to be demolished in retribution for the multiple murders they committed. The four residents of the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood are guilty of murdering 35 people in terrorist attacks in Jerusalem's Moment Cafe, a Hebrew University dining room, and a Rishon LeTzion billiards hall. They were each sentenced to up to 35 life sentences plus several decades in prison.
