On Tuesday evening, Jonathan Pollard visited the special operations room set up by activists in Jerusalem and described his feelings as he saw the devotion of all those working toward the success of the campaign.
"I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart, for all the amazing effort you're putting into setting up Esther's Children's Center," Pollard said. "You know how many people supported Esther in her struggle to bring me home, and now, all of us together are gathered here to continue in her path and concern ourselves with the education of the future generation.
"Just as it was the people who brought me home, so too, in the merit of the Jewish People, we're now laying the foundations for Esther's Children's Center," he added.
Pollard also highlighted the contribution made by the hundreds of ambassadors of the program who attended a special preparatory conference and are now working every day from their homes to raise the sums needed to actualize the dream of the Center.
"Now that the foundations have been laid, I am responsible for finding additional major partners in this project," Pollard continued, "together with the Aviv Torah foundation, which has taken upon itself to raise a substantial portion of the funds needed to establish and operate the center, so that we can have it up and running as soon as possible."
Esther's Children's Center was founded by Jonathan Pollard. It will combine a quality Jewish education for pre-school children with projects and activities for older children in after-school hours, and aims to offer its services to around 500 children per week.
Following Pollard's request, the campaign site remains open for anyone who wishes to contribute to the campaign and help reach its funding goal.
