MK Moshe Solomon (Religious Zionist Party), a member of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, spoke to Israel National News at the Knesset on Monday and commented on the video of Avera Mengistu which was published by the Hamas terrorist organization.

"I know the family well. They, too, are in Ashkelon where I lived in the past. I feel pain for what the family has been going through for so long. At the same time, it is very important to emphasize that we must not play into the hands of Hamas, to create any kind of provocations here. I trust both the Chief of Staff as well as the security forces to do the intelligence work and look into the reliability of this footage," said MK Solomon.

He also commented, as chairman of the subcommittee for Judea and Samaria, on the situation in the Jewish towns in that region. "First and foremost, we need to get a stronghold of Area C and recognize that it is ours. We need to direct people there. There are a lot of Olim who come here from all over the world. We need a presence there and allow for maximum conditions for people to settle anywhere."

On the possibility of bringing Jews from the Ethiopian community to Judea and Samaria, Solomon said, "I think that the Ethiopian Jewish community is a Zionist community, which really wanted to come here and live in the places of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. In my opinion, it is a mistake that they were not directed to these places. Very few were directed to Judea and Samaria and at the time also to Gaza, but today it can be corrected."
