Senior figures in the Palestinian Authority came to celebrate with the murderous terrorist Karim Younes, who was found guilty of murdering IDF soldier Avraham Bromberg in 1980 and was released from prison after 40 years on Thursday.

Among the members of the delegation that came to celebrate in the village of 'Ara was the Fatah party Deputy Chairman Mahmoud Al-A'loul and central council members A'zam A'Ahmad and Rouhi Fatouh. Former Knesset member Mohamad Barakhah, who served as the head of the Arab sector follow-up committee, also visited the released terrorist.

Channel 12 News reported that a large celebration occurred on Friday in the village, with PLO and Fatah flags being flown. Later, police forces arrived at the scene and were filmed attempting to disperse the festival.

Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas told Younes in a phone conversation after his release: "You paid not only one price, but many prices for yourself and many of the people of our nation when you sat in prison for 40 years. We will not give in for our brothers in prison; whether they sat for 40 years or 40 seconds, they are warriors who gave the nation their best fight."
