Interior and Health Minister Aryeh Dei on Tuesday turned to Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara with the request that he be allowed to exercise his authority under the citizenship law to revoke the citizenship of Karim and Maher Younis, the two terrorists who murdered IDF soldier Avraham Bromberg in 1980.

The two terrorists are expected to be released from prison in the coming days

Minister Deri stated in his letter that upon his entering the Interior Ministry, he was informed of the release of the two terrorists, who put the soldier in their vehicle as he was heading home from his army base, stole his weapon, shot him and then threw him out of the vehicle to die on the side of the road.

"It is unthinkable that these people will continue to hold Israeli citizenship, and the revocation of citizenship will have an important message, when it comes to those who have become a symbol for those who carry out out these criminal acts of terrorism. These things take on a new meaning insofar as it is about those who use their Israeli citizenship to harm the State of Israel and its citizens." Deri wrote to the attorney general.

"In light of all of the above, and in order to exercise my authority according to the Citizenship Law, I will request that you act to revoke their citizenship," he concluded.
