The Arab sector plans a public protest against the disqualification of MKs Azmi Bishara and Ahmed Tibi by the Central Elections Committee. It was decided this week that the two may not run for Knesset in the upcoming election. The Israeli-Arab Tracking Committee calls on all "peace-loving organizations, Jewish and Arab," to take part in the rally this Friday. Bishara was disqualified for his support for Hizbullah and Hamas, and for statements in favor of armed struggle against Israel. Tibi's candidacy was nullified because of his statements against the Jewish character of the State of Israel.

A special Supreme Court forum will convene on Tuesday to review the Central Election Committee's decision to disqualify Bishara and Tibi. Labor MKs Pines and Oshaya said they would appeal to the Supreme Court against the candidacy of Baruch Marzel, #2 on the Herut list, for Knesset.
