We have been praying for Rav Druckman’s recovery for many days now and it is hard to believe he is no longer with us.

Rabbi Druckman was a true public leader, an example and model of unrestrained and boundless devotion to the people of Israel.

It was only a month ago, when we celebrated at the exciting tribute event for his 90th birthday. Rav Druckman told us all how sorry he is for the hassle and for bothering the crowd. We laughed among ourselves but it was not surprising to hear such words from him. He then added that if such an evening is being held, may the message that comes out would be the dedication to doing good for the people of Israel, as he tried to do his whole life.

The message got through, I’m sure without a doubt. Because that is what Rav Druckman is all about, that is who he was for me and for many others.

Few are the people in our generation who have the spiritual and practical stature like Rav Chaim Druckman. His passing is a great loss for all of us.
