Terrorists fired at Kiryat Arab municipal workers in the western neighborhoods of the city this afternoon. No one was hurt, but security forces hurried to the site and broke into the house from which the shots were fired. The terrorists had already escaped, however. Kiryat Arba spokesmen said that this was yet another warning of the dangers posed by the government's "continued passivity following the killing of 14 people in less than a month and a half. [It's] a clear signal to the terrorists: Do what you want, shoot, wound, kill, and don't worry - it will cost you nothing."

The Jerusalem Magistrates Court lifted travel restrictions against Hevron resident Baruch Marzel, the #2 man on MK Michael Kleiner's right-wing Herut party list for the upcoming elections. The court ruled that under the circumstances, Marzel should be allowed to leave Jerusalem in order to take an active part in his party's campaign. Marzel was forbidden from returning to his wife and nine children in the Tel Romeida neighborhood of Hevron, after being accused - but not convicted - of pushing a policeman during the evacuation of the Gilad Farm two months ago.
