It was announced today that Israel's security forces had arrested four Arab residents of Jerusalem who carried out shooting attacks in the capital's northern neighborhoods. Three of them confessed to planning further attacks of that nature, and of intending to place bombs in Jewish areas.

It was also announced that Israeli security forces arrested two Hamas members who planned to abduct a soldier in Gaza and hold him for ransom. The arrest was enabled after the two were lightly wounded in a firefight near Nitzana, where they infiltrated the border from Egypt. The two armed terrorists said they received help from a local smuggling ring.

IDF forces placed a curfew last night on the northern and western neighborhoods of Bethlehem, carried out a comprehensive search - and found their man. Kamel Abu-Afif, a leading wanted Fatah terrorist, was apprehended early this morning.
