A Likud activist has been held in prison for five days on suspicions relating to the general accusations of vote-selling in the Likud. Police say he rented hotel rooms for a gala event for leading Central Committee members, "with the intention of attempting to sway them to vote for particular candidates" in the Likud primaries. Much more quietly, the police are also continuing to investigate accusations of corruption in the Labor Party.

MK Yael Dayan said today that she filed a police complaint over a month ago about corruption in the Labor Party, but that the police have done nothing with it until now. Dayan, who made headlines two weeks ago when her defeat in the Labor Party primaries pushed her to join Meretz, was asked on Israel Radio today if her complaint about Labor corruption was a "sour grapes" reaction to her defeat. She explained that she filed the complaint as soon as the incident occurred, and she cannot explain why the police took so long to investigate.
