The heavy rains of last night and today have resulted in floods in several areas. Magen David Adom, police, municipal emergency services, Israel Electric Company, and other services are on storm alert. Well over three inches of rain fell in the Haifa area during the 24-hour period ending this morning, and slightly smaller amounts in other areas. The worst of the storm is predicted to hit most of the country later this afternoon. The rains moved southwards this morning, and over an inch and a half has fallen in Jerusalem over the past few hours. Snow is still expected in the north.
