The Gaza Coast Regional Council issued the following statement:

"Both in Hevron and in Gush Katif, the footsteps of the murderers continue to lead back to the Supreme Court, which since the beginning of the war has prevented the razing of buildings along the Kisufim route. It has thus encouraged - perhaps not intentionally - the murderers of Rabbi Arama, who was on his way to a family celebration of Itamar Yefet who was murdered in the same area two years ago. We call upon those in charge to wake up and prove that Jewish lives are worth more than fraudulent 'ethical norms.'"

Other residents said that they have repeatedly demanded that the army take down the buildings along the road, behind which the murderous terrorists have repeatedly taken refuge to fire on and murder Israelis. Yisrael Beiteinu leader MK Avigdor Lieberman joined the call today for the demolition of the structures.

MK Tzvi Hendel (National Union), a long-time resident of the area, said today, "It is way past time for us to finally dismantle the Palestinian Authority, send all the murderers and their leaders back to Tunis, and restore responsibility for Israel's security to the IDF... [Labor Party leader] Amram Mitzna freely lets the blood of the Gush Katif residents by inciting from every street corner against the pioneering Zionist residents of this area. He promises the Arabs that in exchange for their terrorism, he will run away again and unilaterally withdraw from Gaza. He thus encourages the terrorists to murder the Jewish residents."
