Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday published on social media a photograph of himself and his wife Sara with their newest grandson.
The infant, Natan, was named at his circumcision ceremony on Tuesday. He is the son of Netanyahu's eldest daughter, Noa Roth (42), and her husband Daniel. The Roths are Breslov hasidim, and live in Jerusalem's Meah She'arim neighborhood.
Though Netanyahu wanted to attend the circumcision ceremony, due to the difficulties securing the location, he was not able to attend.
After it became clear that he would not be able to attend, the former Prime Minister instead spent part of the morning visiting his daughter.
In a tweet following the birth, Netanyahu wrote, using the traditional blessing to parents at a circumcision "Congratulations to my daughter Noa and to her husband Dani on the birth of their son. May you merit to raise him to Torah and good deeds, happiness and health. We love you, Sara, Bibi, Yair, and Avner."
Noa is the daughter of Netanyahu's first wife, Miriam (Micky) Haran (nee Weizmann).
