Clashes broke out overnight Saturday between Palestinian Arab gunmen and IDF forces in Shechem (Nablus).
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said that "security forces are currently operating in the city of Shechem. There is an exchange of fire between the armed men and the forces." There were no injuries to the IDF soldiers.
Palestinian Arabs reported that two terrorists were killed in the clashes and at least nine were injured, including one in critical condition.
The reports further said that the IDF had been arresting wanted terrorists at the scene, including one of the commanders of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades terrorist organization, who was holed up in his home.
The forces’ activity in Shechem comes about five months after IDF forces eliminated a squad of three terrorists in the city, in broad daylight.
According to reports, the house that was targeted overnight Saturday is the home of the fourth terrorist, a member of the same squad, who has not yet been eliminated.
