Defense Minister Sha'ul Mofaz met in New York last night with UN Sec.-Gen. Kofi Anan. The latter demanded that Mofaz carry out a comprehensive investigation into the death last month of a UN worker in Jenin, and transfer more money to the Palestinian Authority. Mofaz, for his part, raised the issue of the Hizbullah threats from Lebanon and the aid granted the terrorists by Iran.



Foreign Minister Binyamin Netanyahu departs for Europe today for a four-country tour. He will begin in Italy, where he will meet with Prime Minister Berloscuni, and then travel on to France, Great Britain, and Russia. At the center of his talks will be the questions of international cooperation in the war against terrorism, and European aid to Israel in the event of an Iraqi attack.
