A three-year old boy has died after being left inside a hot car outside a Jewish preschool in South Florida.

Police said that both the boy’s parents are employees of the Lubavitch Educational Center in Miami Gardens, the Miami Herald reported.

Several children from the family attend the school.

The child was discovered unresponsive in the car, with temperatures in the mid-90s. He was taken to the hospital but pronounced dead.

“This tragedy hits close to home, and many in our school community have been affected by it. No words can capture the heartbreak and sadness we feel,” Rabbi Benzion Korf, the dean of the center, said in a statement on Monday.
