An op-ed in yesterday's Ha'aretz - appearing on the English internet site - states that armed Jewish civilians living in Yesha (Judea, Samaria, and Gaza) are legitimate targets for terrorist attacks. The article, entitled, "Palestinians Must Take the Moral Ground," and written by prominent Arab-American Emadeddin J. Fraitekh, states that deliberate Palestinian targeting of Israeli civilians must end, but adds,
"The legitimate targets for armed struggle by Palestinians are the Israeli military occupation forces comprised of over 50,000 Israeli soldiers... Legitimate targets also include the armed Jewish settlers who illegally occupy Palestinian land, while implementing and enforcing the Israeli government's illegal settlement policy."
